Do art and music promotion mix?
Tuesday, February 19th, 2008I recently read an article in Bob Baker’s Indie Music Promotion Blog entitled, “Does Business Ruin Art?” and thought I’d weigh in with my take on the discussion. To me, it’s all part of the Law of Attraction.
I’m a person just like you; I need to eat, clothe myself, stay warm, put my kids through college, and follow my passion. What “ruins art” more, me asking for a fair price for my music, or taking me away from my violin and putting me behind the wheel of a taxi or into a corporate setting?
Oprah said something a while back on her tv show along the lines of ‘a poet trapped in a construction worker’s body is a shame’. I know someone just like that, I bet you do too, and yes, it is a shame!
In the case of my music, not only is it, as Bob states, “healthy and natural to want to grow and prosper”, but, my music extends that right to health, joy and prosperity to those who listen to it.
Take my album, “Fragrances of a Dream“. If you believe in the Law of Attraction, then you know that it all starts with the dream, that your thoughts become your reality. Allow your dreams of growth and prosperity, joy and contentment, peace and love into your heart and mind, and all those dreams can only come true.
So go ahead, “wish upon” that star. Your dreams will come true! And I will continue to compose, arrange, and play my beloved violin.
