Announcing a New 2-CD Set: The MARI Experience
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008
If you enjoy listening to guided poetic imagery with relaxing music in the background, “Harmony of Mind and Body: A MARI Experience“, a 2-CD collaboration between Daniel and Susan Mandel, Ph.D., MT-BC, may be of great interest to you.
MARI (Music-Assisted Relaxation and Imagery) was originally conceived by Mandel as individually-designed tapes for cardiac rehabilitation patients, and the idea expanded into important music therapy research regarding the impact of music on the health of people living with coronary heart disease. Daniel and Mandel created a CD in 2005, but now the MARI Experience is available to the general public for the first time.
“I go there to let go
a mantra in my mind
varying shades of color
emerge behind my eyes
Breathe in - blow out
steady while it deepens
my body feels heavy
mind through silence listens
- from “Immersion“, disc 1, Harmony of Mind & Body
Disc 1 contains brief instructions as well as Mandel’s voice and the music of Dvorak (Going Home Medley), Kobialka (Mystique), and Bach (Air on a G-String). Disc 2 is just Kobialka’s musical arrangements.
