CDs and Music Downloads - Waves of the Future

music downloads available worldwide are the wave of the futureI’ve been researching and pondering the state of the music industry these days. It seems that people are buying more music than ever, but many no longer purchase entire albums. Thanks to music services such as iTunes and eMusic, many consumers prefer to download individual songs via computer, and cell phones, then burn their own CDs or drop them into their iPods.

Perhaps the movement now and in the future is towards subscription services, where “everything will be streamed from database centers of music” and no one will need to download music at all, as one of my assistants predicts. Truly, the music world flows and rushes forward in its own “Timeless Motion”. *smile*

My assistant also tells me that most people who enjoy my music are probably middle-aged or older, are still interested in CDs, and support downloading mp3s from individual artists’ sites. We are planning website changes that will appeal to all people that find their music online. Although we may be in denial of one form or another as members of the generation that vowed to never grow old…we are indeed getting older everyday

Many of us, being the overachievers that we are, are becoming more concerned about wellness and retirement, and still are determined to stay young. No wonder we concern ourselves with de-stressing and like to spend what little free time we have doing relaxing / wellness activities…yoga, massage, meditation, writing, reading, and sleeping more soundly.

Those of you too young to recognize yourself in this description, believe me, it’s never too early to stay young!

I’d like to hear from you, my readers: would you subscribe to a music service on this website, perhaps paying a monthly or yearly fee and being able to download at will? Which do you prefer, CDs or downloads? And how does listening to music fit into your wellness routine and help you stay young, stress-free, relaxed, and renewed?
