Yoga Music

Yoga music for health, relaxation, meditation, dreams, and inspiration

Yoga music is music chosen to be combined with yoga for health, relaxation, meditation, dreams, and inspiration and can be chosen by the practitioner for one or more of many different reasons, depending on the individual and the style of yoga practiced.

If you have a scientific mind, you may be interested in knowing that research observations suggest yogic practices can be used as stimuli to increase secretion of melatonin, which is responsible for an improved sense of well-being. Or you may just like to know that yoga is thought by some to promote health. The field of mind/body medicine views illness as an opportunity for personal growth and transformation, and yoga can be a catalyst and guide in this process.

So, depending on your perceived need for healing or wholeness, yoga music can be energizing and envigorating, or it can help clear your mind and ease you into a deeply relaxed, meditative state. It can be calming, expansive music that helps you to keep your mind calm, your muscles relaxed, and your breathing deep and slow.

Music with a rhythm of around 60 beats per minute can help the postures flow effortlessly, one into the other, because this is the rhythm of your breathing while you sleep.

"I already have two of your (Daniel Kobialka's) CD’s…Fragrances of a Dream and Velvet Dream, which I love. I learned of these through a yoga class where your music was used (very effectively, I might add)." Judith Christie christie@in-tch.com
